Tornion ryhmänäyttely 25.2.2012 - Group Show at Tornio

Kävimme tänään Torniossa ryhmänäyttelyssä. Siellä olivat näytillä FCI:n ryhmät 1, 5 ja 6. Shetlanninlammaskoiria näyttelyyn oli ilmoittautunut 25. Tuomarina shelteille toimi Harry Tast. Näyttelypaikkana toimi Tornion ravirata ja pienimmät koirat olivat tietysti sisätiloissa eli raviradan hallissa. Sisällä oli ahdasta kehien ympärillä, mutta kun pääsi levittäytymään katsomon istuinpaikoille, oli paikka oikeastaan aika tilava.

We went today to Tornio for a dog's group show. There were three FCI groups showing: 1, 5 and 6. There were 25 shelties present at the show. The judge was Harry Tast. The show venue was Tornio's racetrack and of course the smallest dogs were inside the racetrack audience hall. Inside were crowded around the frames, but when we got to spread to the auditorium seatings, the place was really quite spacious.

Lähdimme Lexien kanssa tavoittelemaan ERIä ja SA:ta, jos vaikka sellaisen tällä kertaa saisimme. Haluamme tältä vuodelta ykkösruusukkeen Lexielle, joten ERI on todella tärkeä arvosana meille. Tuomarista oli tietoja, että on hän on todella tarkka ja selkeä arvioinnissaan. Hän ei pettänyt tälläkään kertaa, vaan kertoi tarkasti, mikä oli oikein ja mikä kehitettävää.

We went there to hunt down an EXCELLENT grade and SA for Lexie if although this time we could get those. This year we want to get the national shetland sheepdog organization's First rosette for Lexie, so EXCELLENT grade is a very important mark for us. We had heard that this judge was very precise and clear in his assessment. He did not disappoint this time either, but told us exactly what was right and what was there to develop in.

Lexien kasvattaja Linda oli myös paikalla. Lexien veli Mr. Cadillac otti itselleen nuorten luokan voiton ja vielä Paras uros (PU) -kehässä voiton ja sertin. Viivin veli Pate sijoittui ko. kehässä toiseksi saaden varasertin. Tästä tuli tietysti meidän leirille kovat paineet.

Lexie's breeder Linda was also present. Lexie's brother Mr. Cadillac took a class victory in young males, and was the best male (PU1) and got the certificate. Viivi's brother Pate was placed second in the PU ring and got the vice certificate. Of course those wins gave us lots of pressure.

Narttujen junnuluokassa oli kuusi koiraa. Lexie oli kehän alussa hieman levoton, mutta lopulta sain neidin kuriin. Arvioinniksi saimme ERInomaisen. Kehän voittajaluokassa sijoituimme vielä kovan kilpailun jälkeen ensimmäiseksi eli tulokseksi tuli JUN-ERI + JUK1 ja SA. Pääsimme siis Paras Narttu (PN) -kehään ja olimme ehdolla sertille.

In bitches junior class were only six dogs. Lexie was a little jumpy at the beginning, but finally I got our little lady under control. We got our grade and it was EXCELLENT. In bitches junior winner class we ranked ourself as first after stiff competition so we were JUN-ERI + JUK1 with SA. We were able, therefore, to be in Best Bitch (PN) ring and we could get our first certificate.

Täytyy sanoa, että tässä vaiheessa olin hieman hukassa, koska tämä oli ensimmäinen kerta, kun pääsimme PN-kehään. Pää oli jossain pilvissä.

I must say that at this stage I was a little lost, because this was the first time that we got to the PN ring. My head was somewhere in the clouds.

PN-kehässä pääsimme ensimmäisiksi kehään ja saimme määrätä tahdin. Se oli aikaisemmin hieman ongelmana, että edellämme ollut meni hitaasti eteenpäin ja takana oleva tuli aina niskaan, mutta nyt saisimme mennä rauhassa eteenpäin omalla tahdillamme eli minä antaisin Lexien juosta, miten hän halusi. Aluksi kiersimme kehän ympäri kahdesti. Tämän jälkeen tuomari tiputti koiria pois niin, että jäljelle jäi enää neljä koiraa ja me olimme niiden neljän joukossa! Seuraavaksi lähdimme kiertämään kehää uudelleen. Tuomari sanoi, että saamme juosta ympyrää niin kauan, kunnes hän on sijoittanut meidät.

In PN ring we got to be the first who started to circle, and we could set the pace. In previous rings it had been very problematic, if ahead of us was a very slow mover and and behind of us would be very fast mover, but now we got to be the first one and set the pace so I would let our Lexie to run the way she wanted. At first we had to run around the ring twice. After that the judge dropped of dogs until there were only four and we were among those four! Then we had to run around the ring again. The judge said that we would have to run around the ring as long as it took him to place us to our positions.

Tuloksena oli, että sijoituimme lopulta 2. Lindan Heran jälkeen. Tunne oli mahtava, koska se oli enemmän kuin osasimme odottaa. Saimme lisäksi varasertinkin. JEE!

The result was that we ended up 2nd after Linda's Hera after. The feeling was great, because it was more than we had expected. We also got the vice certificate. JEE!

Helmikuun huveja

Taas on ehtinyt tapahtua paljon pienessä ajassa. Mistähän sitä lähtisi liikkeelle?

Näyttelyt

Lexie lähtee ensi viikonloppuna kanssamme kokeilemaan Torniossa, josko meidän ERI-tilastomme kasvaisi siellä. Tuomarina Torniossa on Harry Tast. Toivottavasti hän kuitenkin tykkää neidistämme. Paikalle on tulossa vain 24 shelttiä, joten katsotaan, kuinka käy.

Next weekend we are heading with Lexie to Tornio for group show and see if our excellent-statistics will grow there. Judge there is Harry Tast. I hope he'll like our little girl. There will be 24 shelties there so let's wait and see, what will happen.

Viime viikonloppuna järjestettiin Pohjois-Suomen Sheltit ry:n vuosikokous, jossa palkittiin viime vuoden menestyjät. Lexie oli 2. näyttelypennuissa! Jee!

Last weekend there was Pohjois-Suomen Sheltit ry annual meeting, where they rewarded last years success. Our Lexie was 2nd in Best Puppy in Show's competition.


Agility

Kävimme viime viikolla sitten porukalla ensimmäisen kerran agiliitämässä eli Viivikin pääsi mukaan. Raskausepäilyjen keskelle saimme kuitenkin tehtyä ehjät treenit ja uusimman ultran jälkeen voimme harrastaa vielä vapaammin. Nyt vain sitten lisenssin hankintaan ja kisoja kokeilemaan. Se on meillä nyt siintämässä silmissä.

Last week I went to agility training with the whole team with Viivi too. Between being pragnant or not we were able to do our first training in a long time and after todays ultrasound we are able to keep on training. Now, I have to purchase a license and then we can start doing/trying our luck in races. That is what we now see in front of us.

Viime kerta meni todella mallikkaasti. Viiviä ei tarvinnut houkutella tekemään rataa ollenkaan, vaan neiti ohjautui itse automaattisesti. Oli ihana olla ja harjoitella hänen kanssaan. Ohjaaja nautti hommasta, vaikka ensimmäisessä otossa jäikin valssit tekemättä, mutta toisessa ne muistimme. Tässä videot treeneistämme:

Last time went very well. I didn't have to lure Viivi to train, she directed herself there automatically. It was wonderful to train with her. I enjoyed of it a lot although we forgot to waltz at the first try out, but we did them better the second time around. Here's the videos:






Lexien kanssa olemme aloittaneet tänään maanantaina myös kurssin Minnan Koirakoulussa Tupoksessa. Lähdimme sinne, koska halusimme perusteet kuntoon. Kesällä se ei onnistunut ja tämä talvikin on ollut ns. edistyneempien perässä raahustamista ja heidän ehdoillaan harjoittelua. Siksi päätin, että nyt mennään Minnalle hinkkaamaan perusteet kuntoon. Näin me sitten teimme.

With Lexien we started today a basic agility course at Minnan Koirakoulu at Tupos. We went there because we wanted to get our basics in order. In the summer, it was not possible, and now in winter we follow more advanced dogs and try to keep up. That is why I decided that we'll go to Minna's to get our basics right. That is what we did then.

Ensimmäisen kerran jälkeen voinkin sanoa, että teimme oikein. Olemme nyt saaneet harjoitella perusjuttuja ja oppia uuttakin vanhan lisäksi. Pussikauhuammekin saimme hieman laannutettua. Treenit meni hienosti, mutta mutta - arvatkaa, mitä Minna sanoi minulle? Ohjaajan pitää saada itseensä lisää vauhtia. Nyt minulla on kaksi vauhtityttöä siis, joiden kanssa pitäisi tassua saada toisen eteen. AARGGGHHH!!!

After the first time I can say that we did the right decision. We have now been able to practice the basic stuff and even learn something new. Our fear of bags is now a little bit lesser. Training went well, but, but - guess what Minna said to me? The pilot must get herself moving a bit more speedy. Now I have two fast girls, therefore, I must get faster and faster. AARGGGHHH!

Uusi vuosi, uudet kujeet

Niin se vuosi 2012 tuli. Tämä vuosi onkin sitten kaikkea mukavaa täynnä: astutusta, näyttelyitä ja tietysti henkilökohtaisia juhlia. Alkuvuosi on ollut perinteisesti taas aika kylmä ja luntakin on sadellut, joten lumessa olemme päässet myörimään.

So it's year 2012. This year is full of nice things: mating, exhibitions, and of course, personal celebrations. Beginning of the year has been very cold and we got some snow where to play.





Näyttelyt 2012

Tänä vuonna olisi tarkoitus näyttelyttää vielä molempia koiria. Viivi tosin taidetaan laittaa tauolle kokonaan tämän vuoden jälkeen. Meidän pääkeskittymisalue on agility. Siinä haluamme kehittyä todella hyviksi. Lexietä käytämme molemmissa eli näyttelyissä sekä tietysti agitreenaamassa. Tosin viime vuoden loppu ei näyttänyt hyvälle siinä harrastuksessa, koska kiinnostus taitaa olla jotain muuta.

This year we are going to show our both dogs at shows. Viivi though will retire from these things after this year. We concentrate on agility. There we want to become really good. Lexie concentrates on both: shows and agility. However, the end of last year did not went as good as we hoped, because her interest on track seemed to be somewhere else.


Viivin kuulumiset

Viivi aloitti juoksunsa joulukuussa ja neiti astutettiin vuodenvaihteessa Päivi Lillebergin Onnilla (Mystica Linen Mystery Man). Astutus onnistui hyvin, mutta kävimme nyt helmikuun 2. päivä ultrassa ja kohtu näytti tyhjälle. Harmillista, koska tuloksena olisi ollut varsin hyvä ja nopeita agikoiria!

Viivi became in heat on December and our girl mated with Päivi Lilleberg's Onni (Mystica Line Mystery Man) . The mating was successful, but we were at ultrasound now on February 2th and it showed an empty uterus. What a shame, because we could have had a agility litter!



Hieman tämä ko. raskaus jäi mietityttämään, koska päästessään takaisin kotiin Viivi oli niin ahmatti ja kauhean hellyydenkipeä. Neiti lihoikin puoli kiloa. Lisäksi oireina oli kirkas vuoto myöhemmin, joten ajattelimme asian olevan varma nakki. Valitettavasti ultra ei valehtele ja nyt ei käynyt flaksi. Elämä kuitenkin jatkuu.

This thing raised a little question in my head, because when Viivi came back home she was eating heavily and lots and was a very keen to cuddle. Our girl gained even weight about half a kilo. In addition there were some clear bleeding after a while, so we thought it to be sure of thing that she had something in her belly. Unfortunately, ultrasound does not lie, and now we didn't have luck enough. However, life goes on.

Olimme astutuksen takia agi- ja näyttelykiellossa, mutta nyt pääsemme palaamaan normielämään. Viikonloppuna olisi taas epikset, joten ajattelin, että lähtisin Viivin kanssa sitä kokeilemaan. Se olisi varmasti mukavaa tauon jälkeen. Neidiltä saattaisi riittää mielenkiintoa asiaan. Harmi, että on tuota pakkasta, koska muuten harjoittelisimme pihalla muutaman esteen kanssa hyppyjä, kiertoja ja keppejä.

Because of the probably pragnancy, Viivi was on pause from agility and shows, but now we return to the normal to life. Next weekend there is going to be unofficial agility race, so I thought that I would go there with Viivi and give it ​​a try. It would certainly be a nice thing after this brake. Our girl could be interested on that thing. It's a shame that it is so cold outside now, otherwise we would be there doing some practices with few jumps, twists, and sticks.

Lexien kuulumiset


Lexie jatkoi agilityä juoksujen jälkeen. Koska harjoittelu siirtyi taas talveksi halliin, olimme aluksi hieman hukassa. Lexie pelkäsi hallin pimeitä nurkkia + haukkujen kaikumista siellä. Muutama kerta meni ihan pipariksi sen takia alussa.

Lexie continued her agility practices after the heat. Since the training was transferred to the hall again for the winter, we were initially a little lost out there. Lexie feared the dark corners of the hall + all the barking there. A few times went pretty badly, because of those things.

Kolme viime kertaa olemme kuitenkin loistaneet. Koska muutama kerta oli mennyt pipariksi, menin harjoituksiin hieman häntä jalkojen välissä. Ratana oli sellainen hyppyjä ja putkia sisältävä rata. Aluksi ajattelin, että ei tule mitään, mutta yritetään. Agikirjoista viisastuneena jaoin radan neljään osaan, että tekisimme sen aina pätkittäin. Kun lähdimme suorittamaan esteitä, Lexie hyppäsikin ensimmäisen esteen ylitse, sitten toisen ja ohjautui kuin automaatti putkeen vasemmalle. Olin ihan ihmeissäni - ohjaaja sanoikin, että olin kuin halolla lyöty ensimmäisen hypyn jälkeen, että mitä tapahtui. Se kerta onnistuikin sitten mainiosti ja samoin toinenkin. Pakkanen vai sotki viime kerran keskittymistä ja Lexie oli hieman muissa ajatuksissa sen kerran ajan. No, ei voi vaatia. Edelliset kaksi kertaa meni niin hienosti.

Three recent times, however, we have been excellent on the track. Since a few times were so bad, I went to the exercises with my tail between my legs. This time our track had jumps and tubes. At first I thought that we are not going to do well, but let's try. I divided the track into four parts so we could do it in patches. It would be easier that way. They said that I should do it like that, when I read those agility books. When we started to do those obstacles, Lexie jumped over the first hurdle, then another, and directed herself automatically in pipe to the left. I was amazed - the director said that I was like a brick hit me in the head, when Lexie went over the first jump. I couldn't believe it, what was happening. That time we did all perfectly, and then another practices as well. The cold weather messed the last time, Lexie had her thoughts on other things then. Well, we can't have everything. The two previous times went so well.


Kajaani KV 15.1.2012

Kävimme tammikuun puolessa välissä 15.1.2012 Kajaanissa kansainvälisissä koiranäyttelyissä. Tuomarina siellä toimi Mette Tufte, Norjasta. Viivi jätettiin kotiin, mutta Lexie lähti kokeilemaan. Otimme tämän vuoden tavoitteeksi saada se ykkösruusuke: kolme erinomainen-arvosanaa virallisista näyttelyistä.

We went in Kajaani international dog show on mid-january - 15th of January. The judge was Mette Tufte from Norway. We left Viivi at home, but we took Lexie there to try. We took this year's target to get that "Ykkösruusuke": We have to get three excellent grades from official dog shows.

Lexien kasvattaja Lindakin oli Kajaanissa Lexien veljen Mr. Cadillacin kanssa. Hän laittoikin painetta kehään, koska hän oli urosten junioriluokan paras ERI-arvosanalla ja sai vara-sertinkin. Lexiellä ei mennyt yhtä hyvin, mutta tuloksena oli ERI eli erinomainen ja olimme junioriluokan toinen. Arvostelun voi lukea Lexien näyttelytuloksista.

Lexie's breeder Linda was there with Lexie's brother Mr. Cadillac. He gave us some pressure in the ring, because he was the first of males junior class with excellent grade and got reserve-sertificate. Lexiellä did not do as well, but the result was ERI as excellent, and we were on second place in bitches junior class. Judges praise can be read from Lexie's show results .


Henkilökohtaiset uutiset

Henkilökohtaisella rintamalla tämä vuosi on mielenkiintoinen. Vietämme tänä vuonna ensimmäistä hääpäiväämme Petrin kanssa. Lisäksi olemme hakeneet kennel-nimeä Kennelliitolta ja edellisessä Koiramme-lehdessä olikin siitä ilmoitus. Vielä menee siis aikaa, että saamme oman kennelimme pystyy, mutta kaikki ajallaan. Kauhea hinku on jo perustaa sivusto, mutta vielä ei voi.

On a personal front, this year is interesting. We will have our the first anniversary with Petri. We have applied the kennel name from Finnish Kennel Club and last issuo of Koiramme our name application was declared. Yet it will take time before we can own kennel, but all happens on time. I have already a terrible urge to set up a website.
